We recently lost acclaimed writer and filmmaker Nora Ephron, and I thought it would be appropriate to do a tribute to her. She has done so much to advance the role of women in film, both on screen and off. She proved to an industry owned and operated by men, that there is a place for movies by women for women, and they can be funny, insightful, and timeless. I think Ephron herself would reject the idea that gender played any role in her career or success, and she would be right. She attained everything the old fashioned way, with hard work, passion, and talent. But she did blaze a trail for and entire generation young female artists and writers. So we pay tribute to her and all of her wit and brilliance.
"I try to write parts for women that are as
complicated as women actually are"
-Nora Ephron
“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.” - Nora Ephron
“Summer bachelors like summer breezes, are never as cool as they pretend to be.” -Nora Ephron
"The Wonderbra is not a step forward for women. Nothing that hurts that much is a step forward for women."
